12 days a year you can bathe in red wine in the biggest spa resort in Japan. At the Yunessun Spa Resort in Hakone, Japan a hot tub is filled with hundreds of gallons of Beaujolais Nouveau, for customers to bathe in. On top of that, a 12-foot bottle of wine is included, providing the visitors with red wine to consume during their unusual bathing experience.

According to the spa, it is a rejuvenator for the body to bathe in wine. Mathilde Thomas, considered as one of the originators behind the wine spa trend, claims that there are no proven benefits of bathing in wine. Nevertheless, it’s quite a popular event for the visitors.

Beside the wine pool, the Yunessun Spa Resort, also offers coffee spas, green tea spas and a sake spa. On Valentine’s Day a chocolate bath is available.
